Martin Canning’s career spans public and non-profit sectors at the national and international levels. Through his experiences leading award-winning, social marketing campaigns, Martin holds a tested ability to deliver creative and effective operations and project management; as well, his talents in market communications, strategic advocacy and stakeholder relations are developed and versatile.

Martin partners closely with SEMgroup clients to create and implement specific marketing programs to build awareness, recommend enhancements and measure effectiveness. With excellent writing skills, Martin works with the communications team to oversee relevant event communications and marketing components. He has delivered results for organizations including One Change, Canadian Blood Services, and Public Works and Government Services Canada. He was President of the Young Environmental Professionals (NCR); and has provided analytical and research support to the Privy Council Office’s Task Force on Canada’s Urban Communities.

Martin’s management style is marked by a commitment to administrative excellence and an enthusiasm for leading in fast-paced and demanding environments. With a focus on political science and statistical analysis, Martin earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Memorial University.
