Karim Balaa brings years of award winning graphic & web-design expertise to the SEMgroup Team. A top graduate of the Algonquin College Interactive Multimedia Developer program, Karim works closely with the SEMgroup Communications and Marketing team from ideation to the development of effective and original custom websites, quality assurance, and a full spectrum of creative results in graphic design, print design, search engine optimization and social media infrastructure.

Karim’s portfolio is highlighted by creative world-class concept designs for blue chip clients including Microsoft, Dell, NBC, Intel, TELUS, Air Miles and the NBA. He is also well experienced in HTML, CSS; proficient in premium Adobe applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Flash, and various presentation tools including Microsoft PowerPoint.

A founder of Mediavanta, an Ottawa-based web design company, Karim’s work has earned recognition from thebestdesigns.com, cssmania.com, cssimpress.com, and dailyslurp.com. He has also worked for multiple design agencies in the city of Ottawa.
