Fred Sherman

Fred Sherman is a founding partner of The SEMgroup. A former Director of Communications and Press Secretary to a Government of Canada Cabinet Minister, he brings to the Team years of experience providing strategic services and advice to clients inside and outside of government. He has managed and coordinated a number of national scale projects including outreach for various Committees of the Canadian House of Commons, Canada-wide consultations on Social Security Reform, the Department of National Defence's Contingency Planning Group, and the Public Service Commission's and the Treasury Board of Canada's Employment Equity Positive Measures Program.
An innovative thinker with a successful record of delivering complex, multi-channel communications projects, Fred works with clients to develop and manage an efficient and effective communications, marketing and media strategy. Fred oversees all aspects of SEMgroup’s communication team and works with the creative and IT teams as required to ensure a targeted, multi-pronged and effective outcomes.
A member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, and accredited in world-leading Team Management Systems performance frameworks, Fred is a regular contributor to various print and broadcast media. He is currently a Board Member of Leadership Ottawa, the Congress of Entrepreneurs and Professionals, and has served as a Director on various Boards of the University of Windsor. He was recently chosen to accept a public proclamation from the City of Ottawa on behalf of community.
